A sea change beckoned in the mid '90s which took him to the Sunshine Coast where, for another 12 years, he owned and operated marine tourism businesses, including fishing charters and dive centres, winning multiple awards for excellence in tourism. Keeping with the marine passion, he segued into roles as marine manager on Hayman Island followed by roles in Gladstone overseeing ferry service logistics for their two LNG projects. An interstate move to Newcastle as port manager followed until family ties drew him to Cleveland which he has called home for the past few years.
